

We’ve all heard a Flume track at this point he’s got that ‘instant classic’ vibe down to the letter. Since the release of his debut album back in 2012, the young Australian music maker has skyrocketed to stardom, with countless singles, remixes, and collaborations in his wake.

Success came rapidly as in April, Flume came up with his second official single, ‘Say It’ that featured Swedish songwriter and Singer, Tove Lo.There’s no denying that Harley Streten AKA Flume has taken the world by storm.

Recently, on early 2016, he released the four-and-a-half-a-minute screening of his second album, ‘Skin.’ In February, the song, ‘Never Be Like You’ that featured Canadian singer and vocals from Kai, became #1 in Australia and also made it Flume’s first chart-topping song. But, due to their differences, he proclaimed that he had left the project in February 2015. On 2011, Flume formed the duo What So Not, with Sydney DJ and Emoh Instead, the record producer. Not only from his countrymen but Flume took lesser time to be loved globally as he was appreciated by the American critics as soon as his self-titled studio album was released. Not only that, but this song secured the second place on the ARIA Albums Chart, only after One Direction’s Take Me Home. This album got so much popularity that it ranked #1 on the Australian iTunes chart.

This was the first time, when Flume collaborated with other artists, like Moon Holiday, Chet Faker, Jezzabell Doran, and New York rapper, T.Shirt. In 2012, he released his self-titled album which got favorable reviews. This time, he too k the name ‘Flume’ inspired by the Bon Iver song. On this competition, he submitted three tracks, ‘Over You,’ ‘Paper Thin’ and ‘Sleepless.’ The founder and creator of the Future Classic, Nathan Mclay, was impressed with his album ‘Sleepless’ and assisted in releasing his first EP which consisted three songs. Here he was noticed by the organizers and signed immediately. On returning, his debut album became a smashing hit and was on the top of the chart.įlume found his career into his passion and started producing home music with his initial, ‘HEDS.’ Along with different remixes, he also produced two tracks, ‘Flow’ and ‘Fizz.’ In 2011, he took part in an original artist challenge, managed by Future Classic, an Australian record company. After finishing that, he went on a small-budget London trip. He recorded his first album and saved it on his laptop. You will be surprised to know that he started creating music when he was only thirteen years old, and the production disc was a cereal box! Talent can’t keep hidden. From childhood, Flume was passionate about music.
